Marietta Lawyer for Marijuana Possession

It is a misdemeanor to be found with less than one ounce of marijuana, and the penalty upon conviction is up to one year in jail and up to $1000 in fines. Having more than an ounce is a felony. If you have less than ten pounds of marijuana, you can be charged with intent to sell or distribute, and a conviction could mean prison for up to ten years. You can be incarcerated for up to 30 years if you are found with 10 to 10,000 pounds and had the intent to distribute. Further, if your marijuana arrest involves a minor, you could be sentenced for up to 20 years. If your car or other property was involved in your marijuana crime, it could be subject to seizure. Your driver's license will also be suspended if you are convicted of possessing, cultivating or selling marijuana.

As you can see, the penalties are tough. Don't let this happen to you. Depending on the facts of your case, I will seek to negotiate a plea deal, or get your charges dismissed or acquitted if it goes to trial.
